Benefits of SITA Membership
SITA Membership is community driven, and the community benefits from our customer-owned approach.
Benefits include:
- Network services at beneficial costs and pricing
- Development of community-shared services and solutions
- Representation of global community needs in development of industry standards
Additionally, Members have "ownership" of SITA and actively participate in:
- SITA Board
- SITA Annual General Assembly (AGA)
- SITA regional Board groupings
- Other SITA advisory groups and Committees
Members are allocated shares, based on their annual usage of all SITA services (network and applications) – i.e., members are SITA’s “shareholders”.
Member shares then determine Board seats.
Twenty Board seats go to SITA's largest member shareholders. Nine Board seats are reserved for regional groupings, and one Board seat is reserved for operating airports and five co-opted Directors.
Non-member customers, regardless of the size of their business with SITA, are not eligible for a Board seat.
SITA Members play an active role in SITA's governance and influence our evolution. Members have the opportunity to be heard and to influence SITA business, portfolio and service strategy, either at Board level and/or through the SITA Customer Advisory Board.
SITA Board
The SITA Board is one of the most representative bodies for air transport in the world. Its members represent over 90 percent of the total airline business worldwide. Board seats are determined annually by the number of shares held by members, as allocated per their usage of SITA services.
SITA Customer Advisory Board
Established in 2007, the SITA Customer Advisory Board advises SITA about the strategic development of SITA solutions and services. It is comprised of 40 senior representatives from member and customer organizations.
